As part of Infratil’s renewed partnership with the New Zealand Youth Choir (NZYC), the inaugural Infratil Scholarship has been awarded to Enyah Talamaivao.

Born and raised in South Auckland the 22-year-old of Samoan descent was a member of the choir that last year earned international acclaim, winning Choir of the World at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and Gold at the European Choir Games in Denmark.  The upcoming three-year cycle with NZYC is Enyah’s second.

The scholarship covers annual NZYC membership fees and contributes to her participation in the choir’s next international tour in 2028.

Enyah is not only a gifted singer but also a young conductor, having served a year as Pasifika Young Conducting Intern with Choirs Aotearoa and as a conducting intern with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Enyah also conducts performances for Sistema Aotearoa in South Auckland.
