TENOR

Ivan is a Hakka-Chinese tenor from Tāmaki Makaurau. Alongside Voices Aotearoa New Zealand, Ivan also sings with 8bit Vocal Ensemble, St Matthew’s Voices, and the Auckland Chamber Choir. Ivan was a member of the New Zealand Secondary Students Choir and the New Zealand Youth Choir, and was part of the cycle that won ‘Choir of the World’ at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and multiple awards at the European Choir Games in 2025.

Ivan is currently an itinerant singing teacher at Rangitoto College and Saint Kentigern College. He is the Musical Director of Cambiata, and Co-Music Director of Menasing. As a soloist, Ivan has performed with Pakuranga Choral, Cantando Choir, the Holy Trinity Cathedral Choir, and Auckland Philharmonia. He is also a member of the New Zealand Opera Chorus.
