1st New Zealand Choral Academy (NZ CAD), January 2019, Auckland
Description
For the first time, New Zealand’s choristers will have the chance to join a national academy of choral singing for the long Auckland anniversary weekend. Organised by Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand, all three national choirs (NZ Secondary Students’ Choir, NZ Youth Choir, Voices NZ) will be in residence and keen singers from around the country can book their place to experience these choirs in action, sit-in and sing with the choirs, and have access to their professional artistic staff for workshops in musicianship, vocal and conducting techniques.
Register for one of these three groups:
– Group S: Secondary School level singers, age 13-17, mirroring NZSSC and training in age specific skill sets;
– Group Y: Youth plus, age 18-25, mirroring NZYC, building on existing choral knowledge, workshopping to extend skill levels;
– Group V: Adults (age 25 plus) with a good choral skill level, and a keen desire to advance their vocal and language skills. Access to advanced training and conducting techniques may also be available.

Times: Fri (1pm – 6pm), Sat & Sun (10am – 6pm); Mon (10-3.30pm)

COSTS
Groups sizes are between 50 and 100 singers, with 100 being the upper limit
Group S: $100 per person*
Group Y: $100 per person*
Group V: $120 per person*
*this cost covers the academy activities Fri-Mon, but does NOT cover food, transport or accommodation; a small booking/credit card fee will be added.
Tea and Coffee and some snacks will be made available during the tea breaks.
